YES YOU CAN

 YES YOU CAN

There is a lot of hype in the media on artificial intelligence and what it can accomplish, but while there are many applications that have been made for such capabilities, one area that has seen the most interest is personal assistants. These devices and other automation tools are getting bigger and more affordable. We’ve already seen that Amazon Alexa is now able to help control your car with just your voice. This means that you don’t need to spend a fortune on buying the latest Apple or Samsung. The acceptable news is that these devices are already open and available to people who don’t want to give up the power of their smartphone by having an assistant. One major market for this sort of technology is China where, according to CNBC, “the Chinese government is investing heavily in R&D in both hardware and services to develop AI-enabled virtualized software for its 5 billion population. While Huawei sells its version of Android, Amazon acquired Redbox, a maker of mobile operating systems like iOS and Google Play, last year. And Apple recently bought Sogou, a firm specializing in facial recognition technology and deep learning software.” As we know how many companies like Alibaba, Tencent, Baidu, and Microsoft also use artificial intelligence and machine learning, some questions remain about how much this kind of technology will cost us. Let’s face it, artificial intelligence is expensive. A business that wants to go global, as well as any company that wants to build cutting-edge technologies, has to be involved in research at universities. Then there would be an acquisition required to be able to produce AI-powered solutions. Not only do they need access to data but also to people who can learn from them. So let’s take a closer look at how artificial intelligence will change our world.

A new way to read books, even better than Kindle

Amazon’s Echo and similar devices have been a huge hit with readers all over the world. Over the last few years, Amazon has built a very unique line called Bookish, or simply just Echos. They’ve added features such as music playback on the device, in addition to reading. It’s a smart way to read. There is a big difference between being able to hear the book and being able to read the words. It should also be noted some of these products are available directly in Amazon’s brick-and-mortar locations. With so many different options out there, it’s tough for customers to choose the right one. Luckily, there is now an easy way to find an eBook reader that you can get for just $50. If you’re looking to buy something entirely different, you could check out Barnes and Noble. Their website includes several options ranging from a basic laptop to their biggest device yet that they call the Reading Room Tablet (it isn’t very small, you’ll see). To be eligible for purchase, you have to make a minimum donation of $25 and if you do, that amount will then be deducted when you order their product. Another option is going through the Indie and Small Press sections on Nook.com. All of these options allow you to try things before committing. I think we can all agree that there are pros to having an actual human being to assist you. But is it worth paying $50 just to have a little extra?

Artificial Intelligence and chatbots

One of the biggest concerns of businesses and consumers alike is how to adapt to this new artificial technological shift which will almost certainly happen and be with us for the next decapod. To stay ahead of the curve, companies would want to understand the benefits of using artificial intelligence and what it can mean for the future of businesses all across the board. Chatbot development allows us to create automated responses and conversations that can answer particular types of questions or handle specific transactions much as humans can. Artificial intelligence can also be used to improve customer experiences by taking over tasks when humans aren’t available. For example, an e-commerce platform may ask users about purchases and they say a certain thing they want to know, “I would like to know if my purchases went smoothly or not .” Now a computer can perform those same actions. It could tell the user to reread products, for example, in case of anything to do with the payment method or any technical glitches. Or maybe the chatbot tells users about specials and offers from products in their inventory which is a great way to retain users and increase sales. In addition to helping consumers and stores make smarter choices, Chatbots can be a valuable asset for anyone who uses them. When it comes to interacting with a bot through social media or an app, everyone likes talking, not speaking. Plus, bots can be programmed to respond to specific requests and provide helpful information about what users are looking for. People want to feel safe being themselves; without needing to speak to someone to do so. Bots allow that as opposed to the traditional screens that we might have seen on phones. We’ve been talking about this for a while but the fact is that artificial intelligence is becoming incredibly prevalent every day. What’s exciting for us in regards to chatbots is that they can be installed on pretty much everything. Businesses want to keep their customers happy and happy. By providing their customers with personalized answers and suggestions, companies can keep their users who prefer bots. Furthermore, chatbots can be configured to be fully functional, so the real question is how they fit into your workflow. The easiest way to incorporate AI into a set of APIs is to create simple bots that can easily be connected to existing apps and websites. These APIs can be customized, however, once an account is created. So many ways a business can take advantage of natural language processing and artificial intelligence. Ultimately, artificial intelligence is a tool that does more than simply tell you how to complete your tasks. Even though artificial intelligence is often described as a “black box”, we can still expect to see improvements in the field and this is one area where we can expect it to become significantly more sophisticated in the coming years. Regardless, this doesn’t mean that robots and autonomous machines cannot exist. Instead, they could be designed to work like us and even include us in the process.

The possibilities of AI and ML

One of the great aspects of chatbots is that they allow you to engage deeply with the person on these devices. Unlike text-based interfaces, chatbots are essentially multi-sensory tools. Many of them can even detect emotions and tone of voice, which is usually only recognized by humans. That said, this type of interface is still one of the best ones. However, chatbots are beginning to realize the opportunity. Here’s another interesting point: Chatbots and other conversational interfaces are not just useful for communicating inside a system, but they can also extend their reach outside of it. Just this summer, Facebook announced it was working on creating a dedicated home screen experience “for Messenger users.” at that instant., Walmart and Uber were doing the same and even Amazon is taking into consideration introducing Amazon Go shopping experiences. Being able to engage with chatbots when and where you want makes sense because the same concepts used for chatting on a phone apply to this medium too. As the conversation continues to expand, intelligent digital conversations will likely evolve. Consumers are probably going to start asking these kinds of conversations to help them navigate their daily lives with a little less effort. Whether a simple shopping trip or a whole evening spent waiting for your flight home, we may find ourselves spending less time on our devices and more time on our computers. With that said, AI might be just what we’ll need to get us back into shape again. With more intelligent software, we can now take part in activities that we previously thought were beyond our reach. Eventually, robots, personal assistants, and even autonomous cars all will begin to interact with each other and eventually with us. As our lives continue to become increasingly tech-centric, we are likely to start building even more sophisticated versions of what it means to be human at the expense of our physical form. Our brains have become amazing at adapting, and it is only natural that a robot body will start to show signs of the same skills.
